Meet DR. RAJANI SREE RAJENDRAN – a distinguished woman entrepreneur from Kerala
DR. RAJANI SREE RAJENDRAN, born and raised in Chittur, Palakkad District, Kerala, is a distinguished entrepreneur, social worker, and legal professional. She is the daughter of government employees K.V. Rajendran and Padma Sankar and is the proud mother of a son, Mr. Reju Das, a software engineer. Her educational journey began at Chittur Victoria Girls High School. She served as the school leader of GHSS Chittur. She later pursued her college education at Government College Chittur, completing a Computer Teacher Training course, an LLB, Honorary Doctorate in Law, and is currently pursuing an LLM. She also received specialized training in Agro Technology of Medicinal Plants from the National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow, and conducted research under a renowned taxonomist. Her dedication to this field led to the publication of a book on the cultivation methods of medicinal plants. Dr. Rajendran’s life has been marked by resilience in the face of adversity. After experiencing near-death situations due to decisions made in her youth, she found the strength to rebuild her life. This journey of self-discovery and perseverance led to the creation of Sree Padma CSC, the foundation of what would become a series of successful social enterprises under the banner of “ Sree Groups.” The Sree Groups, comprising 10 units, focus on community service and economic empowerment. These includes:- Sree Padma CSC, Sree Rajendra (Granma’s Touch), Sree Padmam Handlooms, Sree Sankara Homely Foods (Veg), Sree Ads, Sree Boutique Tailoring Shop, Sree Narayana Handicrafts,and others. Through these initiatives, Dr. Rajendran has uplifted women from underprivileged backgrounds, providing them with training, resources, and platforms to showcase their talents. A significant milestone in her journey was the establishment of the Sree Narayanaa Charitable Trust on August 25, 2022. The Trust is legally registered and plays a crucial role in offering education, healthcare, legal aid, and basic necessities to the deserving. Despite financial challenges, Dr. Rajendran remains committed to running these operations smoothly and independently. Dr. Rajendran’s contributions to society have earned her numerous accolades, including the- Rabindra Rathna Puraskar for Women Empowerment of Kerala.
