"Imli, The Archer": Journey of a Tribal Girl’s Archery Dream, Releasing in Theatres on September 12

Navi Mumbai: Filmmaker Swatantra (Savi) Goel’s new presentation “Imli, The Archer” is set to release in theatres across the country on September 12. The film tells the story of a tribal girl, Imli (Prasanna Bisht), her determination, and her struggles. She possesses a natural talent for archery – without any formal training.
In the story, a government sports officer, while passing through the village, notices Imli’s extraordinary skill and convinces her family to send her to a sports academy. There, Imli meets her selfless and hardworking coach, Mr. Ayyar (Vikram Kochar). With their dedication and Imli’s strong willpower, she rises to the level of a national archery champion.
Director Swatantra Goel has not only crafted this film with sensitivity but also infused it with the spirit that inspires every youth and rural-tribal family. The message is crystal clear – it is essential to recognize the hidden talent of every daughter and make use of government initiatives like Khelo India.
It is noteworthy that Swatantra Goel, who was once a senior officer at State Bank and later settled in America, returned to India in 2016. He believes that cinema is not merely a medium of entertainment but the most powerful way to awaken patriotism and inspiration. Over the last 8 years, he has made 8 films, and now his dream is to bring at least one inspiring film to audiences every year.
The film features 3 beautiful songs, powerful performances, and heart-touching music. Alongside Prasanna Bisht and Vikram Kochar, Harshad Shinde, Maan Singh Meena, Ratan Lal, Jyoti, and Pragya Mishra have also delivered strong performances. Music director Dushyant Dubey and DOP Raja Fadatre have strengthened the film both technically and emotionally.
Director Goel says he has high hopes for this film – he wants “Imli, The Archer” to be more than just a story; he wants it to ignite the spark of fulfilling dreams in every viewer’s heart.
